This is for you.

You don't need to have your whole future figured out.

YPHS is here for young people ages 14–24 who are trying to figure out what comes next — whatever that looks like for you right now.

Wherever you're starting from, there's a place for you here.

There's no wrong way to arrive at YPHS. Some young people know exactly what they want. Others have a general idea. Some know what they don't want. Some have no idea yet — and that's completely okay. YPHS works with you from wherever you are.

I know exactly what I want to do

Great. YPHS can help you understand the pathway, build what you need and connect with the right people to get there.

I have some ideas but I'm not sure

That's a good place to start. YPHS can help you explore possibilities, understand what different futures actually look like and figure out which direction feels right.

I know what I don't want

That's useful information. Knowing what you're moving away from is part of figuring out what you're moving toward. YPHS can help you work through it.

I have no idea yet

That's okay. A lot of young people feel that way. YPHS starts with a conversation — no pressure, no judgment, just a chance to talk about where you are and what might be possible.

How It Starts

It starts with a conversation.

There's no application form to fill out before you can talk to someone. You just reach out. Here's what happens from there.

1

You reach out

Send a message, fill out the contact form or show up at a YPHS event. There's no commitment required.

2

We have a conversation

YPHS will connect with you to learn about where you are, what you're looking for and what might be helpful.

3

We figure out what makes sense

Together, we'll think through what a pathway could look like for you — what direction, what development, what connections.

4

You start building your pathway

YPHS works alongside you — helping you explore, develop, connect and take meaningful next steps.

5

You connect with the right people

YPHS introduces you to professionals, employers, mentors, training providers and community organizations relevant to your direction.

6

You take a meaningful next step

That might be an application, a training program, a placement, a job, post-secondary education or a business idea. Whatever makes sense for you.

7

YPHS follows up

We check in after important steps to see how things went and what you might need next. You're not on your own after the first step.

Where Could Your Pathway Lead?

There's no single definition of success.

YPHS doesn't push you toward one kind of future. We help you explore what's possible and build toward a direction that makes sense for you.

Career & Profession

Healthcare, education, social services, technology, business, law, finance and other professional careers.

Skilled Work & Trades

Electrical, welding, carpentry, automotive, construction, manufacturing, technical careers and other hands-on work.

Post-Secondary Education

College, university, certificate programs, diplomas and other further education pathways.

Enterprise & Entrepreneurship

Starting a business, creative enterprise, social enterprise and self-employment.

Community & Social Service

Non-profit work, community organizations, social services, advocacy and public service.

Not Sure Yet

That's okay. Discovery is part of the pathway. YPHS can help you figure out what you're interested in and where it could lead.

Life & Independence

It's not just about careers.

Getting to where you want to go involves more than choosing a direction. Everyday capabilities — managing your time, your money, your relationships, your digital life — can affect whether you're ready to take advantage of an opportunity when it appears. YPHS helps you identify the areas that matter most for your pathway.

Self-Management
Financial Life
Practical Independence
Work & Professional Life
Digital Life
Relationships & Community

Support is individualized. YPHS focuses on what matters for your pathway — not a generic checklist.

Who Is This For?

YPHS is for young people ages 14–24 in Kamloops, BC.

You don't need to be in school. You don't need to be employed. You don't need to have a plan. You just need to be between 14 and 24 and be open to a conversation about what comes next.

In school and thinking about what comes after
Out of school and figuring out your next move
Working but wondering if there's something better
Exploring trades, college, university or entrepreneurship
Facing barriers that make the next step harder
Just not sure where to start

Your next step starts somewhere.

You don't have to know exactly where you're going. You just need a place to begin.

No commitment required. Just a conversation.
