Help turn potential into opportunity.
YPHS works alongside young people ages 14–24 to help them discover direction, build capability and connect with the people and opportunities they need to take meaningful next steps. That last part — connection — is where partners make the difference.
The YPHS Opportunity Network
Opportunity grows through connection.
The YPHS Opportunity Network brings together people and organizations that can help young people explore, develop and move toward meaningful opportunities. Network members contribute knowledge, experience, access and relationships that a young person may not otherwise be able to reach.
Professionals
Share knowledge about careers, industries and professional pathways. Help a young person understand what a career actually looks like from the inside.
Employers
Offer exposure, job shadowing, placements, apprenticeships and employment opportunities to young people who are ready for a next step.
Tradespeople
Introduce youth to skilled work and trades pathways. Help close the gap between curiosity about trades and a real first step.
Training Providers
Connect youth with programs, certifications and skills development opportunities relevant to their pathway direction.
Colleges & Universities
Help youth understand post-secondary pathways, requirements and what to expect — before they apply.
Entrepreneurs
Inspire and support youth who are exploring business, social enterprise and self-employment as a pathway.
Mentors
Walk alongside a young person as they navigate their pathway. Mentors bring experience, perspective and a consistent presence.
Community Organizations
Provide specialized support, services and community connections that strengthen a young person's pathway.
Ways to Contribute
There are many ways to be part of a young person's pathway.
Contribution does not have to be large or formal. Some of the most meaningful contributions are a conversation, an introduction or an hour of someone's time.
Share your knowledge
Talk to a young person about your career, your industry or your pathway. Help them understand what is possible.
Open a door
Offer a job shadow, a site visit, a tour or an introduction. Give a young person access they would not otherwise have.
Offer a placement
Provide a work experience placement, an apprenticeship opportunity or an entry-level role to a young person who is ready.
Become a mentor
Walk alongside a young person over time. Mentorship does not require a formal program — it requires consistency and care.
Sponsor a pathway
Provide financial support that helps YPHS strengthen access to experiences, relationships, resources and opportunities for youth.
Host an event
Partner with YPHS to create an event, workshop or exposure experience that connects youth with your industry or community.
Refer a young person
Know a young person who could benefit from a pathway? Connect them with YPHS.
Build a pathway into your industry
Work with YPHS to create a structured pathway from youth engagement through to employment or training in your sector.
Can we build a youth pathway into your industry?
YPHS is interested in working with employers, industry associations and training providers to create structured pathways that connect young people with real opportunities in specific sectors. If your organization is open to exploring what that could look like, we would like to talk.
